On the morning of June 12, 2025, at the invitation of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), the President of  DTU (DTU) visited, worked with, and co-chaired the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOA) with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences at the Institute's headquarters in Hanoi. The signing ceremony was an important event, opening a new era for cooperation between the two units, especially in teaching and research in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

On the side of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, there was Dr. Phan Chi Hieu - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Duc Minh - Vice Chairman of VASS Institute, Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Chien Thang - Director of the Institute of European and American Studies, Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Duy Thuy - Director of the Institute of Social Sciences in the Central and Central Highlands, Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Huy Hoang - Director of the Academy of Social Sciences, and leaders and experts of departments under VASS. DTU representatives included Dr. Dr. Le Nguyen Bao - Director of DTU, Ph.D. Do Minh Hoat - Director of the Institute for Theoretical and Applied Research (ITAR) and leaders, Prof. TS. Vu Xuan Quang, Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Thu My, Assoc. Prof. TS. Vu Thi Bich and a number of researchers and staff from DTU schools, institutes, and member centers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences welcomed the cooperation between the two units. The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences is an agency attached to the Government, performing the function of researching basic issues of social sciences; to provide scientific grounds for the Party and the State in formulating the country's rapid and sustainable development lines, strategies, master plans, plans and policies in service of socialist-oriented socio-economic growth; advising on development policies in the field of social sciences; training human resources in social sciences in accordance with law. With more than 1,500 staff and facilities in all 3 regions of the country, VASS is truly the pillar of the country in the development of scientific research and postgraduate training in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. Meanwhile, DTU is a leading university in Vietnam in terms of the scale and quality of its training, especially for its international achievements in scientific research and innovation.

This is one of the important reasons leading to the connection and cooperation between the two sides. Thereby, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu affirmed that today's ceremony marks a milestone in the history of cooperation that has actually existed for many years between the two units, affirming that the two units look at the goal of successfully implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in scientific development,  technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Sharing the same thoughts, Dr. DTU President Le Nguyen Bao expressed his pleasure at the signing of the cooperation between the two institutions. He shared DTU's recognition of the sincere support of generations of staff of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences for the development of the university. Some officials and former officials of VASS such as Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Assoc. Prof. TS. Vo Xuan Vinh, Assoc. Prof. TS. Nguyen Thu My, Assoc. Prof. TS. Le Bo Linh, Ph.D. Hoang The Anh and many other distinguished staff have also participated in teaching and conducting annual seminars at DTU, leaving a good impression on students and lecturers of the university. He expects that through the signing of the cooperation agreement, DTU will collaborate with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to organize a number of annual international seminars on a number of key international relations topics as well as expand the research cooperation network.  teaching, and especially co-authoring a number of valuable books/chapters on socio-economic topics at home and abroad.

Also during the ceremony, the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the President of DTU discussed a number of other cooperation initiatives in the coming time. On the basis of this cooperation signing memorandum, each unit will be in charge of the assigned tasks in the spirit of friendly cooperation, meeting the goals and requirements of the country's socio-economic development. This Memorandum of Understanding will be valid for 5 years from the date of signing, after the expiration of the validity, the two sides will evaluate the results achieved and discuss the signing of further agreements.
