In particular, Kim Son won 2 prestigious Gold Medals at the SEA Games in 2017 and 2022.
Swimming is a passion, but Kim Son's dream is to work in the field of Finance - Business in the future.

From the boy who learned to swim to survive to the "golden" boy of the Vietnamese swimming village
Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City. When he was 5 years old, Kim Son was taken to swimming lessons by his grandfather with the hope that he would have more abilities to survive in the natural environment. From here, Kim Son's life took a turn in another direction that perhaps he himself had never thought of.
In those days of learning to swim, Kim Son clearly showed his swimming talent. Immediately, Kim Son caught the "green eye" of the instructor and was accepted to train in the district.
At the 2017 Southeast Asian Games - SEA Games held in Malaysia, Kim Son, who was only 15 years old at the time, made a big surprise when he won the men's 400m mixed swimming event with a time of 4 minutes 22 seconds 12.
This achievement broke the SEA Games record that existed for the previous 14 years, set by Ratapong Sirisanont (Thai athlete with 4 minutes 23 seconds 20) at the 2003 SEA Games held in Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam congratulated Kim Son on winning the Gold Medal at the 2022 SEA Games
With that achievement, Kim Son is the first male fisherman to win the Gold Medal for the Vietnam Sports Delegation and this is also the first SEA Games that Kim Son participated in. Since then, Kim Son has participated in competitions as well as achieved many impressive achievements in domestic and international tournaments.
"I love swimming, I am passionate about swimming. Probably the best thing I do is swim [laughs] and at most is swim. My training day usually starts at 7:30 am and ends at 5:20 pm.
My goal is to compete in the 2024 Olympics, I have been constantly striving to be able to achieve that goal," Kim Son shared.
Passionate about swimming but still... Passion for business
"My passion is swimming, but my dream is to work in the field of Finance - Business in the future. The person who has the biggest influence on me to have such a passion is my father.
Because since I was a child, I have always watched my father work and learned a lot from him. My father is a very good businessman as well as financial manager.
Currently, my father is managing a restaurant and a fairly large nail salon in the US, which he opened himself. I really want to follow my father's career in the future, so since I was in high school, I have always determined that I will definitely study Business Administration, Finance or Marketing in the future," Kim Son confided.

With that in mind, after researching and receiving advice from family and friends, Kim Son decided to study Business Administration at DTU. "I have spent a lot of time learning about prestigious universities that train in Business Administration.
I am very impressed with DTU for its facilities, faculty, learning environment, and training methods, which are quite similar to many advanced countries in the world.
And especially, the training program was transferred from a very famous school, Pennsylvania State University, in the country where my father is working. Those are the reasons why I decided to study at DTU," Kim Son affirmed.
With his achievements and contributions to the glory of the country's sports, Nguyen Huu Kim Son was awarded a 90% scholarship for the entire course by DTU.
This is not only a reward for the young fisherman of Vietnam but also a motivation for Kim Son to make more efforts in the university lecture hall to realize his dreams.
